The story becomes all the more incredible when considering the 10 point deduction handed to Coventry United after the club’s former owners filed for liquidation mid-season.

Lewis Taylor saved the day in January after reaching an agreement with the shareholders to buy the club. The new owner is the chief executive of Energy Angels, a Midlands-based energy company.

Although Coventry United avoided liquidation, no one expected the club to recover from a 10 point deduction and pull themselves off the bottom of the Women’s Championship.

But the side are undefeated in the league since February 6th, when they lost to eventual winners Liverpool.

“This story will go down in history,” said Coventry United manager Jay Bradford, according to the Mail Sport’s Kathryn Batte.

“It will never be done again. I hope nobody has to live through what we've been through. That goal is Mollie Green all over, full credit to her.”
