The Whites are expected to be in the market for a new forward ahead of next season and have been linked with a move for the 28-year-old in recent weeks.
What is the latest news involving Leeds?
According to TEAMtalk, Chelsea are prepared to sell Batshuayi when the market reopens for business with his current contract set to expire in the summer of 2023.
The Belgium international, who called ex-Leeds boss Marcel Bielsa “crazy”, has been sent out on loan a total of five times since first arriving at Stamford Bridge via a £33 million deal from Marseille in July 2016.
At present, Batshuayi is enjoying a particularly fruitful spell with Turkish giants Besiktas, registering 14 goals and five assists in 39 appearances across all competitions.
And his impressive form has reportedly caught the eye of several clubs from across the continent, including a handful of Premier League sides.
It’s claimed that Wolves, Everton, Southampton, Brighton and Leeds are all considering a move for Batshuayi, while unnamed teams in Germany, Italy and Spain are also said to have made contact with the player’s camp.
What has Jones said about Batshuayi?
Jones would be shocked if new Leeds manager Jesse Marsch targeted Batshuayi, though, as he hasn’t produced his best form ‘consistently’ during his time in England.

He told GiveMeSport: “I’d be surprised if that was the player that Marsch thought was the answer to their problems.
“It’s hard to judge him because, at one stage coming into English football, he looked like the next big thing, and we’ve seen flashes of that, but we haven’t seen it consistently.”
What is Leeds’ current striker situation?
Patrick Bamford led the line admirably for Leeds last season, racking up 17 goals and eight assists in 38 top-flight outings.
However, the England international has been restricted to just 559 minutes of Premier League action this term due to persistent injury issues.
Tyler Roberts has had fitness concerns of his own throughout 2021/22, while his record of just two goals in his last 50 league games has raised question marks over his ability.
With record-signing Rodrigo preferring a slightly deeper role, youngsters Sam Greenwood and Joe Gelhardt the only other natural options for Leeds up front.
Therefore, Marsch is likely to try and strengthen in that area of the pitch over the summer, and Batshuayi appears to be a potential target.
