Tottenham will have a long list of transfer targets ahead of the summer window, according to Daily Star journalist Paul Brown.

Antonio Conte has already set his sights on signing six players when the window reopens next month, and Brown reckons that Spurs will have all bases covered.

What's the latest news involving Tottenham?

Conte's charges still face a crucial battle on their hands to qualify for the Champions League, but the Italian is already putting plans into place to strengthen his squad ahead of next season, providing he stays in his current job.

According to the Telegraph, the Tottenham boss wants to sign six players to give his side every chance of challenging in both the Premier League and Europe, regardless of what competition they end up in.

Conte wants a goalkeeper to compete and provide competition with Hugo Lloris, a new right wing-back, another centre-back, two central midfielders and a striker who can ease the workload on Harry Kane, with Tottenham yet to replace Fernando Llorente, who left almost three years ago.

Spurs have already been linked with a host of players ahead of the window reopening next month and Brown expects sporting director Fabio Paratici to have a "long list" of players they'll be targeting.

What did Brown say about Tottenham?

He told GIVEMESPORT: "I know the hierarchy at Spurs like to have a long list of targets. They basically check the boxes and go down the list when the transfer window opens.

"They don't always end up with the players at the top of the list, but they will end up with someone on it somewhere."

Which players are Tottenham targeting?

Despite having competition from Manchester United and other top-flight sides, Spurs want to sign Sam Johnstone as a replacement for Pierluigi Gollini, while young Englishman Djed Spence appears to be one of their top right wing-back targets.

In terms of a left centre-back, The Athletic believe that Josko Gvardiol, Alessandro Bastoni, Sven Botman and Nico Schlotterbeck are four of the names on Paratici's list, while Youri Tielemans and Christian Eriksen have been mentioned as potential midfield options, with the latter available on a free transfer.

Moving forward, it's been almost five years since Tottenham signed a striker permanently and while there's no concrete links out in the open, Spurs surely won't go another window without bringing one in.
