Eddie Hearn has dubbed Katie Taylor's win over Amanda Serrano one of the best fights in boxing history - with both showing tremendous amounts of 'heart' and courage.

The Irish boxing darling, 35, survived a few hairy moments to edge the Puerto Rican at the end of a thrilling fight in New York to retain her undisputed lightweight belts.

Fans immediately called it an instant classic, with Hearn, 42, claiming it's 'one of the best fights in boxing history'.

He told the BBC: "We just saw one of the best fights in boxing history at the mecca of boxing. Unbelievable.

"What a performance. What heart from both girls. Just the most stunning fight I've seen.

"To see it here at MSG, in this kind of environment, amazing."

Hearn continued by praising Taylor for her incredible achievements - saying he needs to 'give her a homecoming'

He added: "She's one of the biggest legends in Irish sport.

Katie Taylor beat Amanda Serrano in 'the biggest women's fight of all time'

"Not to fight in Ireland would be such a huge shame. We'll see what happens but we'd love to run that back in Ireland. Give her a homecoming.

"It was a close fight. I thought she won it by a round or two, or maybe a draw, but I didn't feel like Serrano won the fight but I could see the draw. I was so pleased to see her win but we have to run that back because it was so good."

Jake Paul meanwhile insisted that Serrano was 'robbed', sensationally claiming 'it was a draw at best'.

Speaking after the fight, he said: “It was a draw at best. We thought we won. We thought Amanda won.

“Amanda performed amazing, the performance of a lifetime. That was Arturo Gatti vs Micky Ward. That was incredible.

“Both women fought their hearts out – it was a historic moment.

“The crowd is booing but everyone is a winner here tonight and I'd be mad too if I was them.

“Kudos to Katie Taylor, what she’s done for women’s boxing, and kudos to Amanda Serrano.

“You’ve got to give credit where credit’s due.

“Let’s run it back, like Eddie said, September, October.

“The second fight just got a whole lot bigger.”

Despite her huge success, Taylor is yet to fight as a professional in Ireland.

However, a rematch at Croke Park might just tick all the boxes.
