Jesse Lingard’s brother has posted a scathing message on social media after the Manchester United midfielder was denied an Old Trafford farewell on Monday night.Lingard was named among the substitutes for United’s final home game of the season against Brentford but was left on the bench by interim manager Ralf Rangnick.Nemanja Matic, Juan Mata and Edinson Cavani are expected to leave Man Utd this summer and all featured against Brentford. Phil Jones was also brought off the subs’ bench with 15 minutes remaining but Lingard remained seated.Lingard’s contract expires this summer and the England international reportedly has no intention of signing a new deal with the club he’s played for since childhood following another frustrating campaign. The 29-year-old backed himself to play more this season after an outstanding loan spell with West Ham last term but has often been overlooked.LingardMANCHESTER, ENGLAND - DECEMBER 30: Jesse Lingard of Manchester United looks on prior to the Premier League match between Manchester United and Burnley at Old Trafford on December 30, 2021 in Manchester, England. What did Jesse Lingard's brother post on Instagram?

And after being left on the bench during Monday’s 3-0 win over Brentford, Lingard’s brother Louie Scott didn’t hold back on Instagram, per the Manchester Evening News.

"20 years of blood sweat and tears, 4 domestic trophies, 3 cup final goals, not even a farewell. No wonder it's Conference League next year,” Lingard’s sibling reportedly posted.

"Attacking players for celebrations when the clubs being sold to the super league ok. Class of 92, Busby Babes, you're ran by people who don't even know the offside trap. Classless and the fans need to realise. Goodnight, godbless!

"Been there since nine years of age and didn't even get a send off!!! Well done bro your family are proud."

And here’s the aforementioned post:

Wow.

Did Jesse Lingard deserve chance to say goodbye to Old Trafford?

Lingard’s brother can be forgiven for believing that his relative deserved the opportunity to say farewell to Old Trafford after spending the majority of his life so far with the Red Devils.

This is a player who has played over 230 games for the club and scored the winning goal in the 2016 FA Cup final - one of United’s best days to date during the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era.

Why wasn't Jesse Lingard brought on vs Brentford?

It’s unclear why Rangnick wasn’t prepared to give Lingard his chance to say goodbye.

However, United legend Paul Scholes may not have helped the situation when he recently revealed that Lingard told him the club’s dressing room was a ‘disaster’.

“I’ve had a little bit of stick for that,” Scholes told talkSPORT after his comments created headlines. “I don’t know why I did it! Honestly, sometimes words just come out your mouth.

“I have spoken to [Lingard] since and probably best I don’t tell you what he said.”
