Fofana, Pau Torres and Max Kilman are a few centre-backs who the Blues have recently been linked with, and Brown believes the Frenchman is the most exciting name out of that trio.
What is the latest transfer news involving Chelsea?
With Antonio Rudiger leaving Stamford Bridge at the end of the season, Chelsea are reportedly eyeing a host of central defenders, including Fofana.
According to the Evening Standard, the 21-year-old, who was recently hailed as “exceptional” by Brendan Rodgers, is one centre-half on the west London club’s radar despite him recently signing a contract extension until 2027 at the King Power.
On top of Rudiger, Thomas Tuchel also looks set to lose Andreas Christensen, who will be a free agent this summer, so the European champions making multiple additions at the back after their takeover is complete seems inevitable.

What has Brown said about Fofana to Chelsea?
While Brown believes Fofana, Torres and Kilman would all fit into Tuchel’s system, the Daily Star reporter really likes the idea of Chelsea snapping up the Leicester man.
Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Brown said: “They would probably all fit the system in different ways. Fofana is the most exciting one for me because he’s clearly got huge potential, is quick and he’s very comfortable on the ball, which I’m sure Chelsea like.”
Can Chelsea land Fofana this summer?
It is going to be difficult, and that is before you take into account the situation that the club are currently in after the sanctioning of owner Roman Abramovich.
Last year, Manchester United were reported to be interested in signing Fofana, with Foot Mercato (via Sport Witness) claiming that Leicester were ready to ask for £80m for their defender – the same amount of money they got for Harry Maguire when he departed for Old Trafford.
Are Chelsea going to pay that? Maybe under Abramovich, but it is anyone’s guess how much Todd Boehly and his consortium, who are now in the driving seat to buy the Blues, will be willing to spend on players.
And since United’s interest, Fofana has, of course, gone on to sign a new deal, so that valuation could have easily increased.
Ultimately, the likes of Torres, who is reported to have a €60m (£50m) release clause, and Kilman are probably easier deals to do this summer.
