Nikki A.S.H. could be set for a character change, following the events of last night’s Monday Night Raw

Since June 2021, Nikki has been playing the character Nikki A.S.H., an almost Superhero complete with a comic book themed attire that includes a mask and cape. The gimmick was initially a huge success and saw the 33-year-old win last year’s Money in the Bank match and ultimately her first-ever Raw Women’s Title.

Nikki held on to the title for just under two months, before losing to Charlotte Flair at SummerSlam and then going back into the tag team title picture. She would win her third Women’s Tag Team Title alongside Rhea Ripley in September, but the tandem was quickly disbanded when Nikki turned on her partner and started to portray a heel version of her Superhero character in a short-lived feud with Ripley.

However, despite her 24/7 title win and subsequent loss on last night’s Raw, what followed would suggest we may now see a character shift for the Scottish star.

In a backstage segment later in the show, a returning Doudrop approached a disappointed Nikki and asked if she was ready to stop playing around. To which, the former Nikki Cross replied ‘Yes’. Opening suggestions that we may see both a new direction for Nikki and possibly a new tag team alongside fellow Scot, Doudrop.

The two Superstars are no strangers, having been two of the biggest names in the infancy of Insane Championship Wrestling back in mid 2010s, and with WWE severely lacking in women’s tag teams the move to put them together would be beneficial for all.

Sasha Banks and Naomi are the women’s tag team champions, having won the belts at WrestleMania last month. However, outside their expected programme with Natalya and Shayna Baszler, there are very few further options when it comes to challengers for the belts.Â
