Police are investigating an incident involving a man who was chased out of a women’s changing room at a gym in Solihull. 

The alleged offence occurred at Village Gym in Shirley and officers say the gym is helping with their enquiries. 

They release a photo of a man, who they are not yet treating as a suspect, but believe may be able to assist officers. 

What have the police said? 

A police statement read: “We’re investigating a possible voyeurism offence after a man was chased out of a women’s changing rooms at a gym in Solihull. The incident happened at Village Gym on Dog Kennel Lane on March 12th.

“We’re still in the process of trying to establish exactly what happened, but we believe it to be an isolated incident, and the gym has been helping us with the ongoing investigation.

“The man pictured may have vital information and we’re keen to speak to him as soon as possible. If you know who this man is, please drop us a message via Live Chat at www.west-midlands.police.uk [between] 8 am and midnight or call 101 anytime.” 

Other gym-related incidents

There have been a number of other gym-related incidents that have hit the headlines of late. 

A TikTok influencer has advocated for women-only gyms after secretly recording a creepy man repeatedly staring at her while she was training. 

Elsewhere, an Australian woman was abused in the street, after being accused of wearing inappropriate clothing in the street by a passer-by.

And a US marine vet also shared footage of a man who threatened to hit her with a dumbbell.

Last year, a woman received praise from Gymshark, after standing up to a man who was intimidating her while she was working out.
