The Formula 1 2022 season continues this weekend with the very first edition of the Miami Grand Prix!

It's been a long-awaited addition to the calendar and finally we get to see F1 cars roaring around the Magic City, with drivers and fans excited to see just what is going to unfold at the circuit around the iconic Hard Rock stadium.

The US has become a key area of growth for Formula 1 after success with the COTA in Austin, Texas, and this represents a second race Stateside on the calendar, before Las Vegas will make it three from 2023.

Naturally, then, there is a huge sense of intrigue around the event and, with that said, it's time to take a look at the planned schedule for the entire race weekend in Miami, with things set to kick off each evening this weekend UK time...

Friday

We return to a more traditional F1 weekend layout after Sprint returned at Imola, and that means two practice sessions on Friday - which will be crucial as the drivers get to grips with a totally new Grand Prix circuit configuration.

FP1 takes place at 7:30pm UK time and lasts for an hour, whilst FP2 is pencilled in for 10:30pm UK time until 11:30pm.

Saturday

Saturday sees another final practice session, held at 6pm for another hour, before the all-important qualifying takes place later on in the evening UK time.

Quali is set to last an hour and starts at 9pm, though it could obviously be extended if we see a session as dramatic as the one at Imola last time out, which lasted an extra 40 minutes on top.

Sunday

The Grand Prix gets underway at 8:30pm UK time, with 57 laps of the circuit scheduled.

It's the fifth race of the potentially 23-Grand Prix long season and it'll be great seeing F1 cars attack a brand new circuit for the very first time this weekend.
