F1 is set to return to the US this weekend for the Miami Grand Prix. This will be the first time that Miami has hosted an F1 race.

It’s fair to say that there’s been a real buzz around the F1 community over the last few weeks.

The season so far has delivered many twists and turns as F1 touches down in Miami for this weekend’s action.

The 5.4 kilometre, 19-turn track surrounds the Hard Rock Stadium, which is home to the Miami Dolphins.

In order to get fans hyped for the action, the track designers opted to build an artificial marina next to the track.

Its purpose is to only add real excitement to the event and give fans a glimpse of what life is like in the sunshine state.

It’s fair to say that Sky Sports reporter Craig Slater couldn’t get enough of the artificial marina. Slater was so intrigued by what the track had to offer, that he decided to take a dip.

As well as reporters being excited for the upcoming Grand Prix, F1 drivers are also looking forward to competing in the race.

When asked on Good Morning America whether F1 has cracked the US market, seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton said: “I think so, yes.

“I’ve been coming out here for a long, long time but I never quite understood why people weren’t into Formula One.

“The first race I had out here was Indianapolis in 2007 but now with the Netflix series Drive to Survive growing, we have two Grands Prix in the States and we have another one in Vegas next year. It's going to be huge.”

Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc currently leads the F1 standings and is 27 points ahead of second-placed Max Verstappen

With F1 set to return to the US, fans can expect a lot of drama at the Miami Grand Prix.
