Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin is likely to leave the Premier League club this summer, claims transfer insider Dean Jones.

Calvert-Lewin has endured a nightmare campaign at Goodison Park, yet could still get a big-money move in the coming months.

What's happened to Calvert-Lewin this season?

The 25-year-old started the season in fine form, scoring in each of his first three league appearances against Southampton, Leeds and Brighton.

However, he was then sidelined for over three months with a fractured toe. Upon his return, he has not been able to get back to his best, and further fitness issues have continued to hamper him.

Everton find themselves in a relegation scrap, and Calvert-Lewin has been of very little assistance, having failed to score since August.

Nevertheless, the £37.8m-rated attacker has still been linked with a move to Arsenal when the transfer window opens next month.

What has Jones said about Calvert-Lewin?

Calvert-Lewin looked as though he had fully established himself at Everton when he scored 16 league goals last term.

Things have changed quickly since then, and Jones can now see him leaving the Merseyside club ahead of next season.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “It’s been a massive turnaround for Calvert-Lewin this season. I never would have thought I’d be talking about him leaving, but I do think there is a decent chance he goes now.

“Arsenal are interested. We’ll have to wait and see whether that actually comes through, though, because Arsenal are looking at a lot of forwards at the moment.”

Would losing Calvert-Lewin be a big blow for Everton?

A year ago, this would have been a major setback for Everton.

The 6 foot 3 forward was firing in the goals under Carlo Ancelotti, earning himself a place in Gareth Southgate's England squad for the European Championships.

The Toffees have not been able to rely on him at all during the current campaign, though. When he's playing well, Calvert-Lewin is a handful, and he could be a player to get the team back on track next year if they manage to stay in the Premier League.

On the flip side, Frank Lampard needs players he can trust to stay fit and contribute on a consistent basis.

Therefore, if Everton receive an appropriate offer for Calvert-Lewin, it may be best for them to cash in on him and bring in a new striker that is more reliable than the 11-cap international.
