Over the last few years, Vince McMahon has been keeping a list of forbidden words that aren’t allowed to be said in the WWE.

Hardcore fans of the industry are aware that there are a few words that the WWE don’t like its talent using live on TV.

The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer has provided fans with a list of over 30 words that WWE representatives aren’t allowed to use.

It’s recently been confirmed that there is a new word on the banned list.

According to ewrestlingnews, Meltzer has confirmed that the new banned word is “non-title.”

On the most recent episode of Monday Night Raw, Mustafa Ali faced US Champion Theory and The Miz in what was described by the commentary team as a “non-title championship contender’s match.”

Theory and The Miz would go on to beat Ali in a handicap match in under three minutes when The Miz hit the Skull Crushing Finale.

Despite the term “non-title” actually being correct, it is believed that Vince isn’t really the biggest fan of individuals within the industry throwing around that phrase. 

Meltzer was quick to say that the commentary team was wrong: “Well, they can’t say non-title. That’s a banned term.”

Instead of using the term “non-title,” where a champion’s belt isn’t on the line, it is to be called “Championship Contenders” matches going forward.

As well as “non-title,” other banned words include strangle, card, blood, strap and DQ.

Therefore, going forward, athletes and various other individuals in the company will now have to be cautious when describing a number one contender showdown. 

It’s fair to say that this won’t be the last word that will be banned for good by McMahon.
