Last night on AEW Dynamite, a familiar face stepped into All Elite territory for the first time in his career.
Since last week’s edition of Dynamite, MJF has been teasing who will be his insurance policy in his quest to destroy Wardlow.
As Wardlow awaited his mystery opponent MJF came out to give a little description of his opponent before revealing it to be none other than IMPACT Wrestling star W.Morrissey.
W.Morrissey formerly known as Big Cass in the WWE is known to be one of the most dominant forces within the IMPACT locker room and it was confirmed by Excalibur, JR and Tony Schiavone on commentary that Morrissey was officially the biggest opponent Wardlow has faced in AEW.
Morrissey was most famously known for his run in WWE alongside tag team partner Enzo Amore, now known as NzO in the independents.
Morrissey was looking to make a statement and be the obstacle that prevents Wardlow from getting his revenge on MJF. For the majority of the bout, Morrissey was impressive, throwing Wardlow around like he was a cruiserweight in some spots, most notable when he dropped him with a huge bossman slam.
Morrissey showcased his heel tendencies that IMPACT viewers are so familiar with, as he taunted the crowd and shrugged off NzO chants that echoed through the arena.
However, even though Morrissey put on an impressive display, the big man fell short and was victim to a signature powerbomb courtesy of Wardlow which saw him lose the match.
Even though he wasn’t the victor, it is evident there is a big future ahead for the 7-foot giant.
