The situation surrounding Deebo Samuel and his relationship with the San Francisco 49ers might just have become a little bit clearer.

It’s fair to say that things have not exactly been the most amiable between the two sides in the past few weeks when it comes to Deebo Samuel and his future with the 49ers

Things came to a bit of a boiling point the other week when it was reported that he has asked the team to trade him, with ESPN’s Jeff Darlington recently noting that the team don’t look as if they are going to be in any position to facilitate his move.

Having had something of a breakout year this past season with over 2,000 yards both receiving and rushing in the regular and postseason, it’s clear that Samuel knows what he is worth and doesn’t see the 49ers as the team to take his career to the next level.

Making his feeling very clear

So it’s no surprise then to see that he had done everything he possibly could to send a message to his employers that he doesn’t want to be there, perhaps to try and emphasise his point and try to end the whole thing sooner rather than later.

As per Ari Meirov, the 26-year-old removed all 49ers links on his Instagram page, something that has become a common trend among athletes who are disgruntled with their current employees.

One small slither of hope?

However, one small hint that things could be starting to look up right now is that, as per Matt Maiocco, Samuel has begun to re-establish his relationship with the 49ers on social media, as he has begun following them on Instagram once again.

As Maiocco says, whether or not this is the first step to some form of reconciliation, we don’t know, but to have just that small chink of light for those within the organisation, as well as the fans, to hold on to, might just be what is needed to bring this to an end.
