Conor McGregor has brutally hit back at Tony Ferguson for his rant about the UFC and Dana White.
The American had compared the organisation and its president to âdrug dealersâ during his UFC 274 media day visit.
Ferguson was speaking ahead of his upcoming lightweight bout against Michael Chandler.
McGregor, who has at times had a tough relationship with the sport himself, then took to Twitter to hit back at the 38-year-old.
He tweeted: âTony Ferguson, who changes representation around four times a year, is saying itâs someone elseâs fault he is in the position he is in.
âHow many bridges do you burn before you look yourself in the mirror and say âmaybe itâs me thatâs the issueâ
âGod bless you pal, Iâll say a prayer.â
As we come to expect from the Irishman these days, however, he's since deleted said tweet.
El Cucuy has struggled in the Octagon recently as he has lost his last three fights to Justin Gaethje, Charles Oliveira and Beneil Dariush.
Speaking at the pre-fight media day, he said: âIâm taking this weekend very f****** seriously. Iâll kick this Dana White boyâs a**. Nothing personal against Chandler.â
His thoughts then turned to Dana White and he didnât hold back with what he had to say.
Ferguson added: âI think weâre underpaid personally. Iâm not going to say too much.
âDana said something the other day â itâs on my phone, I think MMA fighting actually reposted it â talking about how boxers are overpaid.
âI asked Dana to box, he said: âF*** no.â Iâm like: âWhy?â I want to go play baseball, I want to go do other pro sports. Iâm an athlete.
âI want to go do all these couple things, but then I have this guy right here acting like a f***ing drug dealer, telling me I canât go do this s***. I want to go make more money for my family.â
Fergusonâs opponent Chandler has lost his last two fights against Gaethje and Oliveira, so both fighters will be looking to bounce back.
