Leeds United will look to sell Elland Road favourites Kalvin Phillips, Raphinha and Illan Meslier if they fail to maintain their Premier League status, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

The Whites are facing up to the prospect of returning to the Championship as they are currently embroiled in a relegation dogfight.

What's the latest news involving Phillips, Raphinha and Meslier?

Phillips is already a sought-after central midfielder regardless of whether Leeds remain in the top flight, with arch-rivals Manchester United understood to be among his admirers.

Aston Villa are also keen to strike a deal and willing to offer £60million - along with a contract worth £10million-per-year - to get their man.

Additionally, West Ham United may return to Elland Road with another proposal after failing with a £50million bid during the final days of the January transfer window.

The Hammers are also eyeing a move for Raphinha, although the winger would prefer to seal a deal which would take him to fellow suitors Barcelona.

Meanwhile, LeedsLive journalist Beren Cross has alleged that the £18million-rated Meslier is likely to be the subject of bids from La Liga, Bundesliga and Ligue 1 clubs if Jesse Marsch's side are relegated at the end of the season.

What has Dean Jones said about the trio?

Jones believes Leeds will sanction Phillips, Raphinha and Meslier's Elland Road departures if they are condemned to the drop.

The transfer insider feels the fan favourites are seen as the easiest way to bring in the funds needed to cope with being relegated to the Championship.

Jones told GIVEMESPORT: "If Leeds do go down, they can cash-in on those guys if need be - and probably would be - as well as probably the goalkeeper.

"They're seen as their three big assets in terms of bringing in money."

What is the current contract situation involving Phillips, Raphinha and Meslier?

It has been revealed that Leeds have put contract talks with Phillips and Raphinha on hold due to the uncertainty over which division they will be competing in next season.

Phillips, who is valued at £45million by Transfermarkt, is currently earning £38,000-per-week and his agreement still has more than two years remaining.

Similarly, the £40.5million-rated Raphinha's £63,000-per-week deal will also expire in the summer of 2024.

Meslier's contract is due to tie him down to Elland Road for even longer, with his £22,000-per-week commitment not due to run out for more than four years.
