Former Formula 1 driver and Sky Sports pundit Martin Brundle has given his take on the best drivers in the sport right now, and found himself rather tied up by the question!

Brundle is one of the most respected voices in the F1 paddock and so it's always interesting to garner his thoughts on any topic related to the sport.

And, with Sky Sports doing a fan-led Q&A with him ahead of the Miami Grand Prix this weekend, he has been fielding plenty of questions lately.

Indeed, one that came up saw him asked to name his three best drivers on the grid right now and, after naming Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc, he found himself rather struggling to narrow it down to a final third.

"The top three drivers in F1? That's tough!" Brundle said.

"I think Max... Charles... and then I'm looking at Lewis, George [Russell] or Lando [Norris] as being the third. But I rate Carlos Sainz, and Fernando Alonso could be up there too!

"A top three is really hard as you've got to leave out an absolutely world-class driver. Can I do top five?!"

Certainly, all these names deserve a mention as one of the best on the grid, whilst the likes of Daniel Ricciardo and Valtteri Bottas may also feel they deserve a nod.

It certainly underlines the quality drivers we have on the grid at the moment and, hopefully, they can serve up a top race this weekend in Miami as F1 races at a brand new circuit.
