The Denver Broncos had a pretty impressive response to how they were going to kill time during the NFL Draft after their trade for Russell Wilson.

It’s fair to say that the Denver Broncos haven’t exactly been the most competitive side in recent years. After the departure of Peyton Manning after the 2015 season, they’ve only managed one winning season and have an overall record of 39-58.

During that time they’ve also cycled through a number of starting quarterbacks such as Trevor Siemian, Paxton Lynch, Brock Osweiler, Case Keenum, Joe Flacco, Drew Lock and Teddy Bridgewater to name just a few.

However, after a pretty blockbuster trade this offseason saw them pick up Russell Wilson from the Seattle Seahawks, hopefully their problems at the position are over for the foreseeable future.

More than just a quick fix

Whilst the quarterback position might be sorted out now that Wilson is in the building, there has been something of an exodus from the Broncos recently.

Not only did they give away their draft picks to get the 33-year-old, they also gave up tight-end Noah Fant and defensive lineman Shelby Harris.

On top of that, they also lost Super Bowl 50 MVP Von Miller in a trade with the Los Angeles Rams last year, whilst also losing running back Phillip Lindsay to the Houston Texans and A.J Bouye to the Carolina Panthers before the season started.

So they certainly have some positions that need filling, and a first-round pick on a top talent and someone who could have made an instant impact might have been helpful.

Still happy with what they got

However, as seen in Behind The Broncos on YouTube having given away their first-round pick to draft Wilson, it left them with nothing to do on the first night of the draft.

So when the #9 pick came up, the pick that would have been theirs, they decided instead to watch footage of their newly acquired player rather than what was going on with the actual draft itself:

They seem pretty happy with it, and hopefully they’ll be smiling just as much towards the end of the season if Wilson can have the same impact with them as he did with the Seahawks.
