Patrick Vieira's reaction after Wilfried Zaha jokes he wouldn't have been able to live with him

Wilfried Zaha has joked his Crystal Palace manager, Patrick Vieira, wouldn't have been able to live with him

Wilfried Zaha has joked that his manager at Crystal Palace, Patrick Vieira, wouldn’t have been able to live with him on the football pitch.

Vieira is one of the greatest players to have ever graced the Premier League.

The Frenchman, an all-action midfielder, played 406 times for Arsenal, scoring 34 times and helping them to three Premier League titles.

Vieira also played 46 times for Manchester City and was the 10th man inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame.

But, despite his incredible resume, that didn’t stop Zaha joking that he would have terrorised Vieira on the football pitch.

Zaha was recently named in EA Sports’ FIFA 22 Community Team of the Season.

To recognise his achievement, EA Sports came down to Crystal Palace’s training ground to hand Zaha a card with his improved stats.

Vieira came across to observe what was going on and there was a funny exchange between the pair.

After being handed his card, Zaha replied: โ€œThis is my stats. Not the other nonsense. That is proper stats.โ€

Vieira, not really knowing what was going on, queried: โ€œThis is from when?โ€

That’s when Zaha decided to poke fun at his former boss, saying: โ€œYourself would not have been able to live meโ€.

Vieira took the joke well as he looked at the winger and, after a brief pause, just burst out laughing.

Zaha and Vieira have a great relationship. The Frenchman has recently spoken out about using the talented 29-year-old as a central striker rather than as a winger.

“I have to convince him and that will take time, but that is a position that I believe he can play,” Vieira told Palace’s official website.

“Heโ€™s really strong at holding the ball, he is capable of linking the game and he can drop in the midfield.”

“I believe this is a position that he can excel in for us. Weโ€™ve had a couple of conversations about that. He doesnโ€™t say no, but it takes him time to buy into it.

“Wilfried loves football. You put him on the right and he will complain, but he will still do the job. Put him up front and he will complain, but he will still do the job.”
