The original trailer for the Switch port of the game was released way back in January 2020, and up until now, there has not been a huge amount revealed about the game coming to the Nintendo console.
There has been a lot of confusion from the Genshin Impact player base as to whether miHoYo had decided to scrap plans for another console release alongside PS4, but they have now made their plans clear!
Here’s everything you need to know about the Genshin Impact port for Nintendo Switch and whether it is still in development.
Genshin Impact on Nintendo Switch
Website GoNintendo recently revealed that they had reached out directly to miHoYo about the highly anticipated release of the game on the Switch.
The company confirmed to the site that: “The Switch version is still in development, and we will release more information as we progress further along.”
Gamers on the Nintendo-dedicated site have been reacting to the news, with many happy that the port is still being worked on.
One player noted: “That’s good to hear! I want to return to the game at some point, so a Switch version would be a motivating reason to do so.”
Another gamer however would make an interesting point regarding the timed events that have come and gone in the game and how Switch players will be lagging behind massively as and when the title is released on the console.
They wrote: “I wonder how this would work. Anyone holding out for a Switch version are missing out on a lot of timed events.
“Several years’ worth of content will have come and gone by the time this Switch port materializes. I didn’t play for the first few months the game was out and I still regret missing events that don’t seem to be repeating.
“Who knows, if the lockdowns in China keep delaying the 2.7 update maybe repeating old events would be a smart move.”
Hopefully, we’ll be able to get more information on the Nintendo Switch port of Genshin Impact in the near future!
