On the 20th of April, we saw history be made in the world of professional wrestling as AEW president Tony Khan revealed that AEW and NJPW would be combining to put on a joint show now known as Forbidden Door.

Forbidden Door was one of the biggest announcements wrestling has seen in a while as it was quite alien that 'rival' companies would join together to put on a PPV event. However, it also comes with no surprise due to the strong relationship that AEW and NJPW have shown in the past with NJPW talent making numerous appearances in an AEW ring previously.

We have had glimpses into who could feature at the show with the Undisputed Elite's Adam Cole and NJPW's Bullet Club leader Jay White taking over the announcement and revealing the details to the world.

Furthermore, we have seen AEW World Champion Hangman Adam Page discuss the event as well as the Hardy Boyz.

It is unknown who will show up from NJPW but it appears as if Khan and Ohbari are setting up a show that will feature the best of the best from both brands colliding.

The event will take place Sunday, June 26th at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.

However, the first presale for the tickets took place at 11 am ET yesterday morning and had over 20,000 people in the queue waiting for ticket releases with the event scheduled to only have the event set up for around 14000 seats.

In around 40 minutes it sold an instant sell-out as all 11,000 presale tickets were sold. It was revealed that there will be an additional 2000 tickets up for grabs in the general on-sale with these predicted to sell out instantly.

The last time AEW reached these numbers with an event at the United Center was at last year's AEW Rampage Last Dance where we saw the shock return of CM Punk who made his long-awaited return to wrestling after a 7 year absence.

Tony Khan took to Twitter to thank the AEW fans, stating:
