Liverpool dropped crucial points in the Premier League title race on Saturday night.
Trailing Manchester City by a single point heading into the clash with Tottenham Hotspur, Jurgen Klopp’s men knew nothing less than victory would be good enough to keep the pressure up on their rivals.
However, despite the 1-1 draw that eventually transpired at Anfield proving enough to nudge Liverpool to the top of the table, City now have the opportunity to move three points clear on Sunday.
Liverpool drop points vs Spurs
That’s because Liverpool endured a frustrating night on Merseyside where they had to fight back from 1-0 down courtesy of a stunning team move by Spurs that was finished off by Heung-min Son.
And although a deflected strike from Luis Diaz at least brought the hosts back level, they nevertheless dropped points to put the fate of the Premier League trophy well within City’s hands.
That being said, if there is one thing you can guarantee from Klopp’s Liverpool then it’s fighting until the bitter end and drawing with Spurs certainly won’t dampen their hunger to win the quadruple.
Liverpool chasing history under Klopp
In what would be an unprecedented achievement in English football history, Liverpool are fighting to end the season having won the Carabao Cup, FA Cup, Premier League and Champions League titles.
And you can rest assured that if any team is capable of showing the grit and determination required to pull off such an impossible feat, then it’s Klopp’s ‘Mentality Monsters’.
Besides, you only have to look at the way Klopp responds to defeats and setbacks to see that Liverpool have the perfect man in their dugout to pick them up and dust them off after the Spurs draw.

Klopp’s reaction to 2018 CL final
And there are perhaps no finer examples of Klopp’s brilliant attitude in the face of adversity than the way in which he reacted to Liverpool’s crushing defeat in the 2018 Champions League final.
Not only was the game in Kyiv devastating because Real Madrid got their hands on the trophy, but it was also an incredibly tough night for Mohamed Salah and Loris Karius individually.
Plus, lest we forget that it marked yet another season where Klopp had failed to break his trophy duck on Merseyside, once again overseeing a major final in which his Liverpool side came out second best.
And how did he react to that? Well, by the early hours of the next morning, he was sending a defiant message to the world by chanting about Liverpool as though nothing was wrong at all.
In a timeless clip that, according to the Liverpool Echo, took place at 6am in the Ukrainian capital, Klopp could be seen jumping up and down with assistant Peter Krawietz, singer Campino and journalist Johannes B. Kerner.
Klopp can be heard chanting the following song: “We saw the European Cup, Madrid had all the f***ing luck, we’ll just keep on being cool, and bring it back to Liverpool!”

Since then, we’ve won the Champions League, Premier League, and are on course to win the quadruple.

Klopp never gives in
Now if that’s not an emphatic middle finger to all the haters and doubters on the back of a defeat that would have flattened most managers, then we don’t know what is.
If he can come out swinging and smiling on the back of a heartbreaking defeat of that magnitude, then you can bet your bottom dollar that he’ll be taking the Tottenham result in his stride too.
Yes, the situation is now such that City need to drop even more points to surrender their lead, but you can rest assured that Liverpool will fight and fight and fight until winning the league is no longer mathematically possible.
And that’s because Klopp has instilled such a remarkable attitude in the Liverpool dressing room that you wouldn’t be surprised if dropping points against Tottenham actually fires them up even more.
