The Reds welcomed Spurs to Anfield with both sides desperate for a victory.
Liverpool are battling for the title with Manchester City, while Spurs and Arsenal are going toe-to-toe for the fourth and final Champions League berth.
Jurgen Klopp’s side could not afford to drop points but that’s exactly what happened as the game ended in a draw.
Son Heung-min gave the away side the lead, only for Luis Diaz’s deflected strike to restore parity with 16 minutes remaining.
There were no further goals as the two sides shared the spoils.
Antonio Conte set up his side to sit back and hit the hosts on the counter-attack.
The plan worked well as Spurs managed to pick up a point at Anfield.
But Jurgen Klopp was not impressed with the north London side’s tactics and he made his feelings very clear after the game.

“I don't like this kind of football. But that's my personal problem. I think they're world-class, and I think they should do more for the game." 🔴 pic.twitter.com/GxVoVeX5Jl
Asked about Spurs’ defending, Klopp said: “I’m sorry I’m the wrong person for that, I don’t like this kind of football. But that’s my personal problem. I think they’re world-class, and I think they should do more for the game.
“I think the game against Liverpool they had 36, 38% possession. But it’s my problem. I cannot coach it. So that’s why I cannot do it. So yes, world-class players block all the balls, really difficult. Fine, whatever. Fine, absolutely fine. I just can’t. I respect everything they do, but it’s not me.”
Many football fans have criticised Klopp for his comments and you can view some reaction below…
Manchester City can now go three points clear of Liverpool with a victory over Newcastle United on Sunday afternoon.
Liverpool will need to hope they drop points as they look to win back the title.
Tottenham, meanwhile, are in fifth and could go four points behind fierce rivals Arsenal should the Gunners beat Leeds on Sunday afternoon.
