Winning comes at a price, and for Michael Chandler, it came in the form of a gruesomely dislocated finger.Following his knockout win over Tony Ferguson at UFC 274, Chandler took to social media to show off a swollen ring finger. The injury left a significant bulge at the base of his finger, inevitably reducing its range of motion.Speaking on the Pat McAfee Show, Iron admitted that he had actually sustained the injury whilst warming up for the fight with his training partner.“I dislocated my finger about 20-30 minutes before the fight, blocking a kick,” Chandler said. “My buddy Marquez, great training partner of mine, he was throwing kicks. I had this great idea.”“Warmup was already done, I’m going out in about 10-20 minutes, and I go, ‘Hey, throw some high kicks at me and I’ll block them and go body shot.’ PHOENIX, ARIZONA - MAY 07: Michael Chandler (R) throws a right onto Tony Ferguson in their men’s lightweight bout during UFC 274 at Footprint Center on May 07, 2022 in Phoenix, Arizona. “I took a big kick to the dome this past Saturday inside that Octagon,” El Cucuy said in an emotional post on Instagram. “It put me out for a long time.”

“It was a scary feeling not remembering anything from beginning of second round all the way until I walked up to the ambulance [but] I thank God EVERYDAY I made the trip back to reality.”

Ferguson will certainly look to regroup after suffering his fourth consecutive defeat, whilst Chandler wasted no time in calling out Conor McGregor.

“I want to up the stakes, Conor,” Chandler said post-fight. “I want you at your biggest, I want you at your baddest and I want you at your best.

"You and me at 170 this summer, this fall, this winter. Holler at your boy!”
