Martin Brundleâs pre-race grid walk at the Miami Grand Prix was nothing short of hilarious as the Sky Sports commentator attempted to speak to a number of high-profile celebrities. Brundle is known for his grid walks, which have been customary ever since the 1997 British Grand Prix and his interactions with famous figures have resulted in some iconic moments over the years. The former F1 driver has interviewed everyone from Ozzy Osbourne to Shaquille OâNeal, though he is also used to being snubbed by a select few. Last year, at the US Grand Prix in Austin, Texas, Brundle was infamously denied the chance to speak to rapper Megan Thee Stallion, after her bodyguards intervened. In Miami, Brundle once again delivered box-office entertainment. Aside from mistaking NFL star Patrick Mahomes for Duke basketball star Paolo Banchero, he also had a tricky encounter with Venus Williams, where both appeared lost for words.
Brundleâs awkward encounter with Venus
Venus was walking along the grid when Brundle confronted her for an interview.
âGood to see you,â he said. âSo tell us, what do you think of this event here in Miami?â

Venus responded: âWe love having Lewis [Hamilton] and all the drivers in Miami. Wishing them luck on their first time over here.â
The next five seconds then resulted in an incredibly awkward silence, as Brundle walked alongside Venus ââ clearly expecting her to elaborate on her answer.
âOh, whatâs the question?â she eventually said.
âIt doesnât really matter,â Brundle joked back. âNice to talk to you.â
What happened at the Miami Grand Prix?
In the end, it was Red Bullâs Max Verstappen who won his third race of the season ââ holding off a late surge from Ferrariâs Charles Leclerc.
Carlos Sainz finished third, while Verstappen's teammate, Sergio Perez, took fourth.
The Mercedes duo of Geroge Russell and Lewis Hamilton came home in fifth and sixth as their early season struggles continued.
Russell, however, recovered from starting 12th on the grid to continue his streak of finishing in the top five of every race so far.
In the W Series, defending champion Jamie Chadwick won back-to-back races to open up a 24-point lead in the championship.
Spainâs Nerea Martà is second in the standings, ahead of Beitske Visser in third.
