UFC lightweight Michael Chandler has sent a warning to Nate Diaz in the wake of UFC 274 last weekend.

On Saturday night, Michael Chandler silenced a lot of his doubters with one of the most vicious knockouts in UFC history. ‘Iron Mike’ overcame some early adversity before knocking Tony Ferguson out cold, taking his UFC record to 2-2 in the process.

He followed the triumph up with a remarkable post-fight interview that saw him call out Justin Gaethje, Charles Oliveira and Conor McGregor, all of whom feel like viable options for him to face.

In addition to that, though, it appears as if another possible challenger has come into play - Stockton’s own Nate Diaz.

The veteran had been pretty vocal on social media in the lead-up to fight night and after hearing a lot of talk coming from the 37-year-old, Chandler couldn’t help but bite back with an electric tweet of his own.

“Hey @natediaz209 ...shut up and stop complaining. Keep your mouth shut. Keep your head down until your daddy books a fight for you to get your sacrificial dome bounced off the canvas again. Maybe it’ll be me...if you’re lucky. See you at the top!”

Somehow, even through an intimidating threat, Chandler still manages to make himself sound like a relatively nice guy.

Will Nate Diaz fight for the UFC again?

With one fight remaining on his UFC deal, it seems pretty likely that Nate Diaz will climb back into the Octagon before walking away from mixed martial arts.

The list of rivals he could take on is quite long with Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier being among the favourites.

A recent ‘leaked’ shot of Dana White’s war room implies that Khamzat Chimaev could welcome him back to the cage but when you consider the trajectory of both fighters, that seems like a strange match-up.

Chandler, on the other hand, further improved his standing as one of the UFC’s most popular acquisitions of the last few years.

He may not win every time, but the former Bellator man knows how to go out there and put on a show better than most.
