Liverpool suffered a blow in their quest to win the Premier League title last Saturday evening.

Jurgen Klopp's side were held to a 1-1 draw by Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield, which handed Manchester City the chance to move three points clear at the top of the table.

And the champions gobbled up the opportunity with a resounding 5-0 home victory over Newcastle United on Sunday.

Liverpool were actually staring down the barrel of defeat at one point during their match against Spurs.

In the 56th minute, the visitors went 1-0 ahead thanks to yet another goal by Heung-min Son.

But Liverpool did manage to level the scores in the 74th minute through January acquisition Luis Diaz, which was one of only three shots they had on target - the same number as Spurs.

The team chasing an unprecedented quadruple just weren't at the races, with Antonio Conte's side frustrating them by sitting deep and then wreaking havoc on the counter.

Diaz was undoubtedly Liverpool's biggest threat in attack throughout the match and the Colombian could have done more damage if it weren't for some poor calls made by Mohamed Salah.

A video compilation has surfaced on Twitter which highlights just how many times Salah ignored his teammate when he was in a great position.

Take a look at the footage...

Video: Salah ignoring Diaz

You can tell Diaz wasn't very happy with his colleague on multiple occasions.

The first clip is arguably the worst of the bunch, as the former FC Porto man was in acres of space on the edge of the box and in the perfect position to unleash an effort at goal.

But instead, Salah chose to have a shot himself on his left foot, which was easily blocked by the Spurs defenders.

Of course, we can't be too harsh on Salah, as the numbers he's produced at Liverpool this season are exceptional.

He leads the way in the Premier League for both goals (22) and assists (13), a mighty fine achievement.

However, with so much riding on each Liverpool game for the remainder of the 2021/22 campaign, Salah perhaps needs to be a tad less selfish.

Especially when he's surrounded by players as talented as Diaz....
