Saints Row Reboot Features: Everything we currently know

Saints Row reboot is set to be launched on 22nd February 2022.

The Saints Row Reboot was first announced at Gamescom in August 2021 and we are beginning to learn more and more about the new features that are going to be included in the game.

The new Saints Row will release on August 23, 2022 and is set to hit PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.

Of course, the franchise has been around for years, with the first game releasing in 2006.

Since then, there have been three sequels, and the new game is set to be a fresh start for the series, a reboot that is poised to start things all over again!

There has been a huge dump of information on WhatIf Gaming, which details a number of new features that are going to be included in the new game.

As a result, we’ve taken a look at the leaks, and broken down everything we know so far.

It should be noted again, here, that everything here comes from the one article, written by Tom Henderson on What If. He is a noted, reliable leaker.

Here’s everything he’s revealed so far.

Flow

Flow is a point-based feature that gives players the option to use their abilities in combat. If they deal 15,000 damage, they will receive 1.5 flow points, which can then be used for upgrades.

Abilities

As hinted before, abilities are tied to flow. Better abilities need more flow points, suggesting that players will need to cause untold chaos in order to max out your character. Abilities need to be activated by pressing a corresponding button or keyboard key.

Some abilities have been leaked by the report, including Surprise, which will see a player throw a grenade down an enemy’s pants and throw them into more enemies causing an explosion, and Flaming Uppercut, which is exactly as it sounds.

Perks

You will have the option of selecting five individual perks. The first perk slot is opened up after completing the first mission in the game, and the others will have to be purchase with in-game cash.

Perks can be unlocked via challenges, missions, and side missions.

There are three separate types of perks.

Basic – These are simple perks that include the kind of boosts as faster aiming down sights, and faster movement while crouching.

Advanced – More beneficial upgrades are included here, including a 50% health increase after an execution.

Ultimate – These cause chaos and include calling in missiles.

Execution

The world of reveal of Saints Row attracted a hugely negative reaction from fans of the series.

The report claims that this is Saints Row’s health system. Players don’t gain more health by popping med packs or anything like that; instead, you’ll need to deal damage and get kills to rebuild your health.

Vehicle health is included here, too, so you can repair your car by bashing into other cars, which is a very Saints Row system!

Customisation

There is said to be a huge amount of customisation in the game, both for your character, your crib, your gun, and your vehicle.

There’s a detailed trailer going through all of this, so this isn’t exactly new info.

Fast Travel

Fast travelling around the city is an option and you can unlock them by taking pictures of landmarks. Once you’ve taken the picture, you can fast travel there whenever you want.

Collectibles

Collectibles are included in the game, in the form of piles of drugs. You can also go dumpster diving and find cash, cosmetics, and more.

Criminal Ventures

This is another one where there has already been a trailer. Criminal Ventures include dumping toxic waste, stealing food trucks that sell drugs, repoing cars, and robbing banks. You know, the usual.

Accessibility

There are said to be a variety of accessibility options, with developers Volition making it a key focus. Eye commands, button presses, difficulty options, and auto-win quick-time events are all included.

Multiplayer

Multiplayer has not been confirmed by the developer yet but this report does claim that the game will be playable in co-op.
