WWE Champion Roman Reigns might only be missing from house shows in smaller markets following reports he would take an extended break from wrestling.

Reigns was reported to be taking a 10-week break from all WWE programmes in the summer, potentially missing big events like Money In The Bank, SummerSlam and Clash At The Castle.

Reigns' negotiations about his schedule have been ongoing for some time and it sparked discussion among fans following his comments at a New Jersey house show.

"I've been here a couple of times in the past 10 years. And I'm starting to work into a new phase in my career, and I honestly don't know if I'll be back here again."

The words have understandably led many to believe he might be leaving for Hollywood as many WWE stars have before him.

Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer reported on Monday that Reigns signed a new contract, which included him doing fewer house shows and was also pulled from all house show advertising and TV tapings from June to September.

But fans can calm down again thanks to Mat Men's Andrew Zarian, who put out a tweet saying he spoke to someone from the WWE and claimed Reigns will not be taking an extended break.

According to him, the undisputed champion will only be missing from smaller market house shows to reduce his busy schedule, but will still be taking part in all the premium live events and TV shows.

That would explain Reigns' comments in New Jersey, where he showed his gratitude to the fans, as he might not be a part of small shows like that one again.

It will be exciting to see what role Reigns plays in WWE's plans following his contract signing and whether he becomes an even bigger star as he will have more energy to perform on the big stages.
