West Ham United target Armando Broja 'fits the profile' of striker David Moyes wants to welcome to the London Stadium and would be 'ideal' for the Hammers, according to journalist Pete O'Rourke.

Moyes was unable to welcome any fresh faces to east London in January, but he could look to splash the cash when the transfer window reopens in the summer.

What's the latest news involving Broja?

Broja is currently on a season-long loan with Southampton, where he is enjoying his first taste of regular Premier League action.

According to The Sun, Broja's form on the south coast has led to West Ham looking to negotiate a deal with his parent club, Chelsea.

The report suggests Hammers boss Moyes and his charges have been impressed with the 12-cap Albania international's performances against them this season.

West Ham are not the only side keeping tabs on Broja's situation as it is understood that Southampton are mulling over whether to secure the hotshot's services on a permanent basis, while Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund have also registered their interest.

Broja - who is valued at £34million by the CIES Football Observatory - has broken into double figures for goal contributions this season, emphasising how much of a threat he can be in the final third of the pitch.

What has Pete O'Rourke said about Broja?

O'Rourke believes Broja would fit into Moyes' West Ham system seamlessly and understands why the east Londoners are keen to strike a deal.

However, the journalist feels the Hammers will face stiff competition as they look to reach an agreement with Chelsea.

O'Rourke told GIVEMESPORT: "I'm sure if they do decide to sell him, you'll have a number of clubs - not just West Ham - interested in him.

"I think he would be ideal for West Ham because he could probably play as that lone frontman as well, like Michail Antonio does right now. I think he fits the profile that Moyes likes."

Why are West Ham looking to sign a striker?

Antonio is West Ham's only senior striker, meaning there has been a huge amount of pressure resting on his shoulders in the attacking third.

He has performed admirably, chipping in with more than 20 goals and assists over the course of the campaign, but it is clear that Moyes needs to bring in an alternative option.

Antonio has been the Hammers' sole frontman since Sebastien Haller was allowed to join Ajax for £20.25million more than 16 months ago.
