Since his return to WWE at WrestleMania Cody Rhodes has admitted that a huge reason behind his comeback has been to finish his father’s legacy. On his first promo back in WWE, as the opener to the Monday Night Raw after WrestleMania Rhodes told a story of his father, Dusty Rhodes, disappointment of never winning the WWE Championship. Using that disappoint as fuel for his own bid to finally bring the WWE Title back to the Rhodes household. While we’re sadly never see the pair share a WWE ring, following Dusty’s passing away in 2015, the American Dream remains one of the most famous names in WWE history. So much so, that during a WWE Live event in Trenton, New Jersey this past week, one fan caught the eye of Cody whilst addressing the live crowd. Addressing the lookalike and handing him the microphone to see if he could do an impression that could match his impressive Dusty look. Luckily the fan, who looked the spit of a 1980s Dusty, managed to pull off Rhodes senior’s iconic promo style – much to the delight of Cody who applauded the efforts of the man at ringside.

Following his emotional return at WrestleMania, Cody has been embroiled in a rivalry across Monday Night Raw with Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins. Having beaten him in Dallas, Rhodes made it two for two at this past weekend’s WrestleMania Backlash, with another victory over The Visonary.

The pair are set to clash once again next month, when WWE hosts it’s next Premium Live Show Hell in a Cell. With speculation that the third instalment of their trilogy could take place inside the confine of the steel structure on 5 June.
