A list of top five boxer’s put together by Floyd Mayweather certainly holds some weight, however, some would most definitely argue with ‘Pretty Boy Floyd’ choosing to leave out Muhammad Ali and Sugar Ray Robinson.

Mayweather boasts an undefeated boxing record of 50-0 and one decision that comes as no surprise to anyone was the self-proclaimed ‘TBE’ (The Best Ever) putting himself in at number one.

Speaking on Fat Joe’s podcast back in 2020, as per DAZN, Mayweather said: “We going ‘Money’ Mayweather. I’mma go Pernell Whitaker, I’mma go Roberto Duran… man, you put me in a tight predicament. Roberto Duran went from 135 pounds all the way to 160. He went at 135, and then 147, 154, and 160. He went to four weight classes."

He continues: “If we’re gonna go with heavyweights, I gotta be honest, I gotta go with Larry Holmes, because Larry Holmes beat everybody in his era. When Larry Holmes got beat by Mike Tyson, he got beat by a young, hungry champion, and he came out retirement and got beat by Tyson. He had the basic fundamentals. He had the jab, and even right now, he’s still living a great life because he made smart investments, so he was good from the beginning of his career until the end of his career."

Finally, Mayweather chose Aaron Pryor as his number five.

“The only reason why Aaron Pryor lost was because of drugs. He lost only one fight because of drugs,” said Money May.

Pryor was a two-time light welterweight champion, holding the WBA title from 1980 to 1983 and the IBF title for one year during 1984 and 1985.

Pryor died in 2016 after a long battle with heart disease, but one thing that won’t be forgotten is his legacy within the ring.

So there you have it, there are the five greatest boxers in the sport's history, according to Floyd Mayweather.

Surely, surely, most people will include the late, great Muhammad Ali, though?!
