Elden Ring: Bandai Namco confirm amazing sales figures in first month

Elden Ring

Elden Ring has been a juggernaut for From Software since its release earlier this year and that has now been confirmed by its sales.

Indeed, From Soft has confirmed that the game sold 13.4 million copies during the month after its release.

That makes it comfortably the most successful game from the developers ever.

The news was revealed in Bandai Namco’s latest financial report, as per Hypebeast, and the news is made all the more incredible by the fact that there were 12 million copies sold within March alone.

That’s an astonishing number of sales but it is not exactly surprising given the brilliant reviews the game received.

On PS5, for example, it has received a 96 score on Metacritic, making it one of the very highest-rated games ever made.

Bandai Namco CEO Yasuo Miyakawa has confirmed that they intend to continue supporting Elden Ring across the next few months and years, to ensure that the sales continue to boon.

It remains to be seen exactly how the game will be updated, but there is the potential of adding multiplayer into the game, while the world also appears to be ripe for DLC, expanding on the story within the game.

Miyakawa said, per the aforementioned link: “Much effort was placed into creating Elden Ring so that we could exceed the expectations of our fans worldwide.

“In like manner, we will continue our efforts in expanding the brand beyond the game itself, and into everyone’s daily life.”

This can only be good news for gamers who have loved Elden Ring since its release, given the way the world has been crafted.

This is also good news for players who prefer single-player experiences, especially those that are narrative driven, and it goes to show that there is life left in games like this on the new generation of consoles.
