Manchester United won the FA Youth Cup for the first time since 2011 on Wednesday evening.

United's U18s faced Nottingham Forest's U18s in the final at Old Trafford.

United took the lead inside 10 minutes through captain Rhys Bennett.

But Forest restored parity in the 43rd minute to ensure the game went into half-time all-square.

United won the game in the final 20 minutes.

Alejandro Garnacho, who made his debut for the first-team earlier this season, won and then converted a penalty, before bagging his second and confirming the win for his side in stoppage-time.

67,492 fans turned up to the game, a record for the competition, and they were treated to a fantastic game.

But the excitement got too much for some fans during and after the game, with there multiple instances of a supporter invading the pitch.

A steward has gone viral on Reddit after a pitch invader made their way onto the pitch.

The steward successfully chased down the fan and floored them with a brutal slide challenge. Watch the moment below...

What a challenge. Now that is how you stop a pitch invader in their tracks.

United could maybe do with him in defence next season...

Travis Binnion spoke to the Man United's official website after the game and he was full of praise for his players and the fans.

“We’ve been blown away by the level of support and the level of interest,” Binnion said. "I’m not very often lost for words, but I am a little bit right now.”

“The front players in this competition have had all the credit, loads of plaudits - and he [Alejandro Garnacho] has got two goals again tonight - but the back players were immense, including Sonny Aljofree when he came on, and Maxi Oyedele, when he came on.

“Radek Vitek, throughout this tournament, has been exemplary, and for a 16-year-old boy at centre-half to be unfazed [Louis Jackson], I thought he was outstanding.

“I’m so proud of him and I’m so proud of this football club and the Academy. It’s a remarkable club to be involved with and I think we need to remind ourselves of that at times.”
