Benzema, Raul, Ronaldo, Puskas: Who is Real Madrid's greatest goalscorer?

On Thursday evening, Karim Benzema equalled Raul Gonzalez’s overall goal tally for Real Madrid.
The French maestro scored Los Blancos’ second goal in a 6-0 thrashing of Levante at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Benzema has now scored 323 goals in the famous white shirt, which puts him joint-second on the all-time list, behind only the great Cristiano Ronaldo.
So, after yet another historic achievement by the 2022 Ballon d’Or favourite, we’ve decided to take a look at the underlying stats among Real Madrid’s greatest goalscorers.
Using the ever-reliable Transfermarkt, we’ve ranked the top 25 by their goals-per-game ratios.
And the amount of legendary figures on show is quite absurd…

2. Ferenc Puskas | 199 goals | 0.88 goals-per-game
- Cristiano Ronaldo | 450 goals | 1.03 goals-per-game

Ronaldo’s stats at Real Madrid never cease to amaze us.
Averaging over a goal per outing at Sunday League level is a mighty fine achievement, but at the biggest club in the world over the course of nine years? Yeah, there aren’t enough superlatives in the English language to adequately describe that.
Benzema’s record is mighty impressive too, but even he himself would admit that it pales in comparison to that of Ronaldo.
Puskas, Pahino, Di Stefano and Sanchez’s numbers are pretty darn ridiculous as well…
