Dead Space remake release date confirmed

Dead Space Remake

The Dead Space remake’s release date has now been revealed and it is set to come out on January 27th, 2023.

The iconic sci-fi horror game will release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC in the first month of next year and appears to be skipping the PS4 and Xbox One consoles.

Dead Space, of course, was first released way back in 2008, hitting the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, and is now revered as one of the very best survival horror games of all time.

On Metacritic, it had a score of 89 from 79 critical reviews, and had 76 positive reviews and just three mixed.

The game follows Isaac Clarke, an engineer who is on a routine mission to fix the issues on the USG Ishimura, a giant starship.

The ship’s crew, though, has been killed and infected and Isaac’s girlfriend, Nicole, is also somewhere on the ship.

EA first announced that they were working on a Dead Space remake back in July 2021, and the title is in development at Motive, the developers of Star Wars Squadrons.

It is set to utilise the Frostbite engine and EA has claimed it will have an “improved story, characters and gameplay mechanics”.

A statement from Phillippe Ducharme, the game’s senior producer, said, as per Video Games Chronicle: “Developing this remake has been a lot of fun for us at Motive, as we’re true fans of the franchise and want to treat it with the respect it deserves.

“It’s been equally exciting to see players’ reactions as we’re taking them on this development journey with us.”

Ducharme has said that the development is “making great progress on our road to hitting Alpha and we’re happy to announce that the game will be launching in January next year.”

It remains to be seen exactly how much content is included in the remake but there is the potential of cut content from the original game being included to beef up the game.

Keep it tuned to GiveMeSport and we’ll bring you any and all updates as they come out across the next few months, building up to the Dead Space remake’s release.

With it set to come to next-gen consoles, one can be sure that the game is set to have some absolutely amazing graphics, and some huge scares to go with it!
