Developed by Firaxis Games, Marvel’s Midnight Suns is an upcoming tactical role-playing game packed with well-known superheroes.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns is the latest superhero game being made and it was first announced at the virtual Gamescom 2021. The game will take inspiration from the Midnight Sons comic book run of the mid-90s, which narrated the tale of a group of supernatural superheroes as they fought against Lilith, Mother of All Demons.
The game, however, will take a few different routes from the comic and will be an entirely new story where players will jump into the shoes of “The Hunter”, a customisable superhero created for Marvel’s Midnight Suns in collaboration with Marvel Comics.
Apart from this, the playable roster of characters includes prominent names like Iron Man, Captain America, Wolverine, Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel, Blade, Ghost Rider, Magik, and Nico Minoru.
You will also be able to pick The Hunter’s superpowers from over 40 different abilities. Here’s a look at everything we know so far about Marvel’s Midnight Suns.
UPDATE 12th July 2022: A new Marvel’s Midnight Suns gameplay trailer focusing on Iron Man, one of the game’s playable characters, has been released by Firaxis Games and 2K.
UPDATE 11th July 2022: The developers of Marvel’s Midnight Suns have revealed the entire gameplay of Captain America.
UPDATE 6th July 2022: Marvel’s Midnight Suns developers have released a short trailer featuring Captain America’s incredible new suit.
UPDATE 24th June 2022: Marvel’s Midnight Suns will be released on the 7th of October 2022 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, and PC.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns Release Date
Marvel’s Midnight Suns were originally slated to come out in March 2022, until it was first delayed back in November 2021. However, now Marvel’s Midnight Suns will be released on the 7th of October 2022.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns has just been age-rated in South Korea. The age classification – deliberated on 13th May 2022 and published on Friday – suggests the tactical card-battle RPG may be coming to PC, Switch, PlayStation and Xbox consoles sooner than expected.
Although a few members of r/LeaksandRumours have spotted the rating for Marvel’s Midnight Suns on the site for South Korea’s games rating board. The RPG has been granted a 15 rating and you can check the rating out for yourself right here.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns Trailers
To set the tone of the game as well as give players a sneak of what’s to come, Marvel’s Midnight Suns sets the stage with a flashy cinematic trailer. The trailer explains that the world’s heroes once defeated humanity’s greatest evil, Lilith. However, the Mother of Demons has somehow managed to come back to life and superheroes need your (The Hunter’s) help to save humanity.
There’s also a gameplay trailer which shows off different aspects of the game along with different heroes and their abilities. The trailer even gives us a glimpse of various enemy types in the game.
“Darkness Falls” trailer
The “Darkness Falls” trailer now offers more insight into the social systems and combat of Marvel’s Midnight Suns, giving fans plenty to look forward to.
Of course, the trailer piques the interest of two more heroes on Marvel’s Midnight Suns roster: Spider-Man and Scarlet Witch, both of whom appear on the cover.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns is set to be released on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. Below is the full list of all the characters that have been shown so far:

The game will follow the story of The Hunter who is the offspring of Lilith, Mother of Demons. Lilith has been revived by the terrorist group Hydra and the only person known to defeat her happens to be her child.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns will also take players and heroes alike into the darker side of Marvel – and we already know of some of the villains in the game.
Jake Solomon, who is leading the game’s development, shared a few details surrounding the game. While talking to Polygon, Jake revealed that the game has: “Zero mechanics” in common with “XCOM.” The Hunter leads three heroes at a time into turn-based battles. Players will unlock unique skills from their teammates as they build friendships over time.
