A new leak about Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 suggests that a new DMZ mode will be present in the game and will include an internal marketplace to sell and exchange items.
Activision finally confirmed the existence of COD Modern Warfare 2 by dropping a nostalgic looking logo at the end of last month. The game will serve as a sequel to Modern Warfare 2019 and will feature a ton of new things.
Aside from the campaign and PVP multiplayer modes, a majority of COD titles include the third mode and according to leaks, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2’s third mode will be called DMZ, an Escape from Tarkov inspired mode.
Recently, a COD leaker revealed some fresh details on what the new mode might have in store for players. As per the leaker, the DMZ mode in Modern Warfare 2 will feature an internal marketplace to sell and exchange items such as skins, blueprints and other items obtained in DMZ mode.
Here’s everything known about this new COD Modern Warfare 2 DMZ mode marketplace leak so far.
COD Modern Warfare 2: Leaks hint that the DMZ mode might have a marketplace
Rumours have it that the DMZ mode will be inspired by Escape From Tarkov, where players drop into a massive sandbox-sized map, with objectives to reach. Players collect loot along the way and can sell items in hopes to get better items in the following raids.
On Friday, May 6th, Call of Duty leaker TheGhostOfHope tweeted that the DMZ will launch in beta form at the same time as Modern Warfare 2’s release. Citing an unnamed source, the leaker said: “Something like the DMZ doesn’t become final until the general public has gotten hands on it. It’s a large mode that needs maintenance.”
Now, in a much recent tweet, trusted leaker TheGhostOfHope posted another tweet in which the leaker wrote: “Modern Warfare II’s third mode ‘DMZ’ will include a marketplace where items can be bought and traded. You are able to earn skins, blueprints and more from ‘DMZ’ that are usable across Multiplayer and eventually Warzone 2.”
This means that players will be able to trade their in-game items as well as obtain skins, blueprints and other things from this alleged DMZ mode. The leak also states that the items will be “usable across Multiplayer and eventually Warzone 2.”
Take this information with a grain of salt as no official confirmation of this has been made either by Activision or by the devs. This isn’t the first time we are seeing leaks surrounding COD Modern Warfare 2 DMZ mode. So chances are, that we might get some official news from Activision in the coming weeks.
