Emma Raducanu embraced another one of her sporting passions at the weekend when she made an appearance at the Porsche Carrera Cup GB.
As the tournament visited Brands Hatch for the second racing weekend of the season, the tennis sensation paid a visit to the track and even enjoyed a lap of the circuit.
Raducanu has revealed that away from the tennis court, she is a huge motorsport fan and she also recently became a brand ambassador for Porsche.
The British number one was taken for a spin around the Kent-based track by 2020 champion Harry King, before being given a tour of the Porsche paddock.
Raducanu also uploaded an Instagram photo of herself grinning behind the wheel of Adam Smalley’s Porsche 911 GT3 Cup.
“This rumble just [became] my new ringtone… may let it ring out,” the US Open champion captioned her post.
Raducanu is a lover of fast cars and admitted she was envious of one of her old tennis coaches, who owned a Porsche 911.
“Porsche is one of the brands I’ve always loved from a young age. One of my first tennis coaches drove a 911. Whenever I would turn up to practise in the morning, I would see his Porsche, I would go ‘wow’ and be like dreaming of one day sitting in my own.”
Her new business venture has made her childhood dream a reality — Raducanu not only works with a dream brand but she finally got to sit behind the wheel of a Porsche 911.
The world number 12 got into karting when she was just six years of age and grew up with Formula 1.
“I think it is a very cool activity and I love the feeling of going fast and racing,” she said. “The extreme accelerating and the hard braking, but I’m also interested in the mechanics and engineering.”
Raducanu also revealed her favourite F1 driver is Daniel Ricciardo, stating his “skills and laid-back style are more fun and conducive to learning and improving fast.”
The Brands Hatch circuit is local to Raducanu and has held a number of iconic races — including several Formula 1 British Grands Prix, as well as the final round of the inaugural W Series season in 2019.

While the 19-year-old may be living her motorsport dream, she has been dealt more bad luck when it comes to tennis.
Raducanu was forced to withdraw from the Italian Open earlier this month, citing pain in her back which left her unable to move during her first round match against Bianca Andreescu.
She has since discussed the probability of competing at the French Open and admitted that while she does not want to sit out the tournament, she is not willing to compete while injured.
Roland Garros will get underway this weekend and Raducanu’s fans will be awaiting the news of whether their number one will be taking part or not.
