Iga Swiatek has maintained her place at the top of the latest WTA rankings, while Emma Raducanu also keeps her spot in 12th. As the French Open looms, the current rankings will provide an accurate indicator of how players are likely to be seeded for the second major of the year. With just a week to go until Roland-Garros, here’s a look at how things currently stand:

Swiatek still leading the way

Swiatek won her fifth title in a row at the Italian Open on Sunday, stretching her remarkable winning run to 28 matches.

The 20-year-old has not lost since assuming the number one ranking from Ashleigh Barty in March and is closing in on Venus Williams’ record of 35 straight victories, dating back to 2000.

Swiatek is now more than 2000 points ahead of Barbora Krejcikova, who remains second in the latest rankings.

However, Krejcikova is the reigning French Open champion and will be forced to defend 2000 points later this month.

If the Czech fails to win and if Swiatek puts together a deep run, the Pole could extend her advantage even further.

Raducanu avoids drop

Raducanu was forced to retire from her first round match in Rome, after struggling with a back injury. However, the Brit has maintained her spot in 12th for the time being.

Because this is the Brit’s first full season on the WTA Tour, she has almost no ranking points to defend until Wimbledon, meaning it is unlikely she will drop drastically until then.

Yet, there remains doubt over whether she will feature at the French Open. The teenager has reportedly flown back to London for help with her ongoing back struggles and the extent of her injury is still unknown.

Sabalenka and Jabeur both on the move

Ons Jabeur and Aryna Sabalenka both moved up the rankings after good showings in Rome.

Sabalenka rose one place from eighth to seventh, having reached the semi-finals and Jabeur also moved up a single spot to sixth after making the final.

Other big movers include Daria Kasatkina, who made the semis in Rome and moved up three spots to 20th, while Switzerland’s Jil Teichman rose five spots, from 29th to 24th.
