Newcastle played host to Arsenal in a crucial Premier League clash on Monday Night football this week. With Arsenal desperate for a win in the pursuit of Champions League football and Newcastle looking to continue their remarkable climb up the table, it had all the ingredients to be a vintage top flight clash.Newcastle came flying out of the blocks to start, putting their guests under some real pressure with the home crowd roaring them on.The north Londoners looked incredibly nervous and, while Aaron Ramsdale was far from his confident best, the Gunners did have him to thank when Alain St Maximin pounced and shot in the latter part of the half.Newcastle continued to push in a bid to make their pressure count but, as the half-time whistle rang out, Arsenal had somehow managed to hold out.Callum Wilson may remember this game for a completely different reason though after footage of him getting some treatment on the sidelines emerged.Eagle-eyed fans quickly zoomed in and saw that one of Wilson's front teeth had been banged loose and was hanging by thread in his mouth.

It looked a properly painful injury but Wilson somehow managed to continue, quickly rushing back onto the pitch despite the perilous state of his gnashers.

It was a more even clash in the opening exchanges of the second stanza with Arsenal finally realising the importance of getting a win at St James Park.

The opening minutes of the half were marred by a ghastly clash between Eddie Nketiah and Fabian Schar as the Newcastle man crashed to the pitch in what appeared to be an unconscious state.

Thankfully, Schar was eventually able to walk himself from the field after a concerning few minutes.

It was Newcastle who would break the deadlock as Ben White smothered the ball past his own keeper while trying to prevent a cross from reaching Callum Wilson.

At the time of writing, the Magpies remained one goal ahead.
