KSI has been backed to beat Jake Paul in a boxing match by his former coach Viddal Riley.

The British YouTuber turned boxer - real name Olajide Olayinka Williams Olatunji - became a household name after beating Logan Paul in November 2019.

However, he has not fought since then, though he recently announced that he will be returning to the ring on August 27.

KSI's opponent for his comeback is yet to be confirmed.

Paul, meanwhile, has compiled a perfect 5-0 record as a pro boxer, as he was recently seen knocking out former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley last December.

It added to KO wins over fellow influencer 'AnEsonGib', former NBA player Nate Robinson, 38, and retired MMA fighter Ben Askren, 37.

But Riley, who longer coaches KSI so he can focus on his own career, tipped his friend to beat Logan's little brother.

Speaking on a recent episode of The Happy Hour podcast, the 24-year-old said: "Of course he's able to beat him. What did I tell you? He's a man just like he is.

KSI is the UK's biggest and most successful influencer with millions of fans worldwide

"Jake Paul has shown more skill than JJ has shown. This is a fact. You can't argue with that, he has.

"But, he ain't fought JJ, and he hasn't fought people who I feel have the same desire, will, power, size that JJ has.

"People don't realise that just because you perform good against one man, doesn't mean you can do it against someone else, because someone else might actually have you shook.

"Someone else might actually make you think, 'You know what, I'm not even trying that move today because he might hurt me'.

"So that's why whenever anyone says, 'Oh, look at the way he dealt with Tyron Woodley...'

"Tyron Woodley and JJ are not the same person. They're different. So we just need to hope that fight happens so people can see it and we can finally have some new questions."

KSI, 28, is one of the UK's biggest and most successful influencers with tens of millions of fans worldwide.

So it's no surprise then that he has been called out by all and sundry including - but not limited to - Paul's friend Alex Wassabi.

But Riley doesn't think it would be something worth getting out of bed for despite Wassabi beating his brother Deji.

When asked if KSI could end up fighting Paul in the future, he replied: "I think so. JJ's said he's going to fight in August which is a good way towards that fight happening. I don't think he'd come back to box if it wasn't on his mind to fight Jake Paul.

"Like no disrespect but he's not going to come out of retirement after all of this time and be like, 'You know what, I'm just going to fight Alex Wassabi', and retire again.

"It doesn't sound right.

"I think he's going to come out, build it, and it's going to be huge."

Riley also spoke a bit about Paul's ability as a boxer.

He continued: "From what he's shown yeah he's got good technique.

"Many things make up being a good boxer.

"He's had time to show a few of them like having a cut, dealing with it, going eight rounds and everything.

"You can't make the decision yet if he's a good boxer, especially if he ain't boxed a boxer, you can't say that.

"But he has shown good technique, he's shown dedication, he's shown knockout power, and I'm pretty sure he'll progress slowly.

"But yeah, he's alright."
