The Cell Match

The Hell in a Cell was brought into the company originally as a one-off gimmick match, with The Undertaker facing Shawn Michaels back at Badd Blood 1997, that match would also feature the debut of Kane.

As noted, the first-ever Hell in a Cell branded WWE PPV was back in 2009, and the company has held a yearly HIAC branded show since then.

With the show taking place historically in October, fans have in the past hoped that WWE would at some point use the Halloween Havoc branding of the classic WCW PPV show.

The 2022 iteration of the yearly event will be the first time that WWE has held a Hell in a Cell show from the Allstate Arena in Chicago.

It’s expected that some of the biggest names in the company will be on the card, including Cody Rhodes, Ronda Rousey, Bianca Belair, Becky Lynch, Edge, Bobby Lashley, Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre,
