Arsenal's Champions League hopes took a huge blow as they were defeated by Newcastle United on Monday evening.

The Gunners needed a victory to go back above Tottenham and into fourth.

But they failed to get the three points they desired as Newcastle ran out comfortable winners.

Ben White (own-goal) and Bruno Guimarães were on the scoresheet as Newcastle won 2-0.

Newcastle legend Alan Shearer and Arsenal legend Ian Wright were working together as pundits for the Premier League's broadcast.

Wright is extremely passionate about Arsenal and he was absolutely gutted as his side fell to defeat.

He didn't get any sympathy from Shearer, though, who was absolutely loving it. Shearer rubbed it in Wright's face as he just laughed at his colleague. Watch their reactions during the game below...

Shearer continued to goad Wright after the game.

Shearer: "Do you want a hug? Do you want a cuddle?"

Wright: "No."

Shearer: "I love you really..."

Wright: "I don't act like that. I've stopped doing that - celebrating when my team do well..."

Wright couldn't keep up a straight face any more as he burst out laughing, before admitting he was 'devastated'.

Arsenal still have an outside chance of securing their return to the Champions League.
