Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou will be handed additional funds to secure reinforcements after Cameron Carter-Vickers and Jota are made permanent Parkhead signings, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

Postecoglou was appointed as the Hoops' manager last summer and he has enjoyed a season to remember, having clinched Scottish Premiership and Scottish League Cup glory.

What's the latest news involving Carter-Vickers and Jota?

Celtic are understood to be in advanced talks over a £10million deal which will see Carter-Vickers swap Tottenham Hotspur for Parkhead on a permanent basis.

That is despite Southampton, Fulham, West Ham United, Crystal Palace, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Everton also taking an interest in the 24-year-old central defender.

Carter-Vickers joined the newly-crowned Scottish Premiership champions on an initial season-long loan from Spurs on deadline day of last summer's transfer window.

Jota also headed to Glasgow in the early stages of the campaign, with him linking up with Celtic on a temporary deal from Benfica, but the agreement included a buy option.

According to Portuguese media outlet Jornal de Noticias, the Bhoys have informed Jota's parent club that they will exercise the £6.3million purchase clause written into the loan deal.

What has Dean Jones said about the situation?

Jones believes Celtic's summer spending will not end after tying Carter-Vickers and Jota down to long-term contracts.

The transfer insider feels Postecoglou's record in spending the Bhoys' cash shows he can be trusted to bring in further fresh faces.

Jones told GIVEMESPORT: "They have to prioritise those two deals but, from what I'm told, they will get additional backing too.

"I think that the success in terms of recruitment so far under Ange has convinced the club that this isn't a gamble. He doesn't bring in players that he's not convinced will fit into what he's doing."

Who else are Celtic looking to sign?

Celtic are understood to be on the verge of sealing a £2million deal which will see left-back Mohanad Jeahze join from Hammarby.

According to the Daily Mail, via the Daily Record, Bodo/Glimt winger Ola Solbakken has been identified as a back-up option if there is a late twist in the Bhoys' pursuit of Jota.

Caen striker Alexandre Mendy has reportedly been the subject of a big-money offer from Parkhead, while Bayern Munich youngster Christopher Scott is also on Celtic's radar and could be available for as little as £250,000, so it is clear that Postecoglou is not looking to settle for Carter-Vickers and Jota as his only summer signings.
