Kerbal Space Program 2: Sequel delayed until 2023

Kerbal Space Program 2: Gameplay Details Revealed

Kerbal Space Program 2’s PC version has been delayed until 2023, while the console version is set to come even later.

Developer Intercept Games have announced, along with publisher Private Division, that Kerbal Space Program 2 is now set to release in the early stages of 2023 on PC.

The console versions, on PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S versions will launch after the PC game has hit shelves.

That means that we will have to wait at least eight months to see Kerbal Space Program 2 come out, although it could well be later than that.

As per GameSpot, Private Division’s creative director Nate Simpson has posted a video update, offering fans of the game an insight into why the game has been delayed.

He said: “We’re creating a game of immense technological complexity. And we’ve assembled a team of passionate, talented people to achieve that goal. But we’ve also set ourselves a very high bar of quality.

“The game has to be performant across a wide range of machines. The graphics have to be peerless. The universe has to be rich and interesting to explore.”

Kerbal Space Program 2: Release Date, Trailer, Multiplayer, Gameplay, Price and Everything You Need To Know

Kerbal Space Program 2 was first announced at Gamescom 2019 and was set to release in early 2020.

That release was understandably delayed because of the COVID-19 pandemic and was pushed to 2021, before being pushed to 2022.

It is now set to come out in 2023, and we’ve got to hope that this will be the final release delay.

Kerbal Space Program 2 is the follow up to Kerbal Space Program, which came out on PC, PS4 and Xbox One in 2015.

That game was hugely well-received, gaining a Metacritic score of 88 from 24 critic reviews and a user score of 8.2 from 703 ratings.

As a result, it is understandable that the sequel is highly anticipated, and this news will be a blow for fans of the series.

However, delaying a game gives the developers time to polish it up and ensure it’s perfect, so here’s hoping that Kerbal Space Program 2 is an exceptional release when it finally does hit shelves.
