Manchester United have a divide within the camp and that came to the fore after a bust-up at the club's Carrington training ground, according to journalist Dean Jones.

The Red Devils are set to enter a new era, with Erik ten Hag being installed as their new manager, but it appears he will have problems to solve in the early days of his reign.

What's the latest news on Man United?

According to The Sun, two senior players within the Manchester United squad were involved in a full-on scrap at Carrington.

The report suggests the altercation came towards the end of a training session and the duo had to be pulled apart, leaving team-mates shocked.

It has been a hugely frustrating season at Old Trafford, where Ralf Rangnick has been in charge since being appointed as the Red Devils' interim boss last November.

Manchester United will head into the final match of the season, at Crystal Palace, knowing they can finish no higher than sixth in the Premier League standings and may still be made to contend with only qualifying for the Europa Conference League.

The Red Devils were knocked out of the Champions League at the last 16 stage, while their bid for silverware in the FA Cup and Carabao Cup was ended in the fourth and third rounds respectively.

What has Dean Jones said about the situation?

Jones believes the training ground bust-up shows there is tension in the camp and the Manchester United players are not on the same page.

The journalist feels it is ironic after the Red Devils have been accused of failing to show fight throughout the campaign.

Jones told GIVEMESPORT: "We all knew that there were issues in that dressing room. I think now we've got evidence that there is, obviously, a divide within the set-up.

"We've all wanted to see some fight from Manchester United, or at least United fans have, but I'm not sure this is quite what they had in mind. Even if it was to spark something, it's way too late."

Could there be a summer overhaul at Old Trafford?

A host of senior stars are set to leave Manchester United in the summer, with Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, Edinson Cavani, Juan Mata and Lee Grant entering the final weeks of their respective contracts.

Central midfielder Nemanja Matic has also announced that he will move onto pastures new after the season reaches its climax.

Meanwhile, Eric Bailly and Phil Jones have told their team-mates that they intend to walk away from the Red Devils when the transfer window reopens.
