The Reds will now be praying that Steven Gerrard's Aston Villa side can do them a massive favour on the final day, so long as they beat Wolverhampton Wanderers at Anfield.

However, it's very unlikely that Villa will be able to shock City, especially at the Etihad Stadium.

The reality is that Pep Guardiola's side are simply way too good for most, something Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson is certainly aware of.

After the victory over Southampton, he was asked whether the squad watch City games and his response was telling.

Henderson said: "I don't watch Man City, a few of the lads do, the way they play, it's never nice to watch so I put the kids channel on, it's better to watch.”

Fair play, Jordan.

Henderson certainly wasn't trying to make out City were boring to watch, more that they're so dominant against pretty much everyone in the division.

After all, watching the team you're trying so desperately to catch have over 70% possession and create a plethora of goalscoring chances cannot be overly fun, can it?
