West Ham United winger Jarrod Bowen has been tipped to remain at the club and sign a new contract by talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook.

The 25-year-old has enjoyed an outstanding season for the Hammers resulting in much speculation over where his long-term future lies.

What is the latest news involving Bowen?

Bowen has been one of West Ham’s star performers in another memorable campaign for the club, registering 18 goals and 13 assists in 50 appearances across all competitions.

The versatile attacker’s brace against Manchester City last time out ensured European football will return to the London Stadium once again next term, while he also played a pivotal part in their run to the Europa League semi-final.

And Bowen’s impressive displays have not gone unnoticed. According to 90min, Premier League giants Liverpool and the newly-rich Newcastle United are both keeping tabs on his situation.

However, a recent report from the Daily Mail has revealed that the West Ham hierarchy are eager to reward the Englishman with a new contract that will see his wages double.

Bowen, who is valued at £42m by the CIES Football Observatory, has just over three years remaining on his existing £60,000-per-week deal but could become one of the east London outfit’s highest earners if he puts pen to paper on fresh terms.

What has Crook said about Bowen?

Summer signing Kurt Zouma is believed to be West Ham’s top earner at this moment in time, taking home £125,000 a week.

And Crook has disclosed that he can see Bowen ‘staying’ with the Irons after earning himself a ‘decent pay rise’.

He told GiveMeSport: “I can see him staying. I think he'll get himself a decent pay rise because, obviously, he's not one of the top earners having come from the Championship, but definitely he's earned that contract, and I would expect that.”

Does Bowen deserve a new contract?

Bowen became the first West Ham player since Paolo Di Canio to reach double digits in both goals and assists in a Premier League season and is expected to receive a maiden Three Lions call-up as a result.

But it’s not just his end product that has caught the eye. As per WhoScored, Bowen has produced 2.2 shots, 1.2 key passes, 1.4 dribbles and 0.8 crosses per league game throughout 2021/22.

Those figures place him amongst the three top three for each metric when compared to his teammates, highlighting his importance to West Ham’s overall play under David Moyes.
