Will Sonic Origins be on mobile?

Sonic the Hedgehog Game

Sonic the Hedgehog is one of the most beloved characters in video game history, so it’s no surprise that fans are massively excited for Sonic Origins which is set to be released later this year.

Sonic Origins will consist of four major Sonic titles throughout the years, that have been revamped for new devices and will feature all-new missions, remastered tracks and much more. If you’re a SEGA and Sonic fan in general, this is simply a must buy.

The four titles that have been included in the new game are Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic 2, Sonic 3 & Knuckles and Sonic CD. These are arguably the four most iconic in the franchise and will certainly hit that nostalgia feel with players looking to relive some of their favourite childhood gaming memories.

Will Sonic Origins be released on mobile?

Unfortunately, Sonic Origins will not be released on mobile devices.

Sonic Origins is set to be released on Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox consoles, Steam, and the Epic Game Store. The game will only be released as a digital download with no plans for a physical release anytime soon.

This is somewhat of a shame as the infamous side scrollers would work well on a mobile, but the developers clearly thought the title would work better if it just released on major consoles and PC.

If you are a mobile gamer and you’re looking for your Sonic fix, there are still plenty of titles available that you can go for.

Two of the titles included in Sonic Origins, Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic the Hedgehog 2, are actually already available on mobile devices, and they’re completely free to play! So actually, you already have half the game available to you already, just without the additional new features.

If sidescrollers aren’t necessarily your thing, Sonic Dash is an extremely popular mobile game which is an endless runner title – similar to that of Subway Surfers or Temple Run.

So despite the disappointing fact that Sonic Origins will not be available for mobile, there are still a lot of Sonic mobile games to go around.
